Cedar raised garden beds in Vaughan, built in Bolton.
Raised beds for Vaughan's larger lots, where a real vegetable plot is three beds, not one.

What a Vaughan yard asks of a raised bed.
Kleinburg, Woodbridge and Maple lots have the room that Toronto lots do not. Three Wide 72 Deep beds in a row is a proper kitchen garden, deep enough for everything, at a height that saves your back, and the size page prints the growing area for the three. Thornhill's older streets run smaller and suit a pair of Wide 48s.
Vaughan has no Environment Canada station with frost normals of its own, so the figures come from the three around it: Pearson to the southwest averages a last frost of 27 April and a first of 20 October, Buttonville to the east 3 May and 13 October, and the King Smoke Tree station to the north, in the 1981-2010 normals, 6 May and 9 October. Woodbridge and Concord sit near the Pearson end of that range and Kleinburg near the King end. The city is zone 6b on the 1991-2020 hardiness map, a full zone up from 5b.
Rabbits are the Vaughan gardener's usual complaint. A 30 inch elevated bed ends it; deer, on the rural edge toward Kleinburg and the Humber valley, need a fence.
