What you’re buying.
The 10 ft 4×4 fence post, a true 3½ in. square, and the post a 6 ft fence in southern Ontario needs: 48 in. in the ground to clear frost and 6 ft standing above grade. An 8 ft post set that deep stands 4 ft, so it is the post for a 4 ft fence, not a 6 ft one. Ground-contact treated, the heavier treatment a fence board does not need, because the post is the one piece that lives in the soil.
One post per 8 ft section, plus one to close the run, at 96 in. on centre, for a stick-built fence and for every 6 ft × 8 ft panel we sell; a 6×6 at gates and corners. Gravel at the bottom of the hole, concrete to grade, and a day to cure before anything hangs on it.
