About

A Canadian building-products company, starting with fences.

NorthStar Building Products is 100% Canadian owned and operated. Our facility is at 240 Ellwood Drive, Bolton, Ontario; our cedar is sourced from British Columbia. We make fence panels today — in cedar and pressure-treated pine — and we’re building toward the full outdoor-living category.

The thesis

Right material for the job. Canadian for the rest.

Outdoor building products in Canada come from too many places and too many species, and the result is a fence line that doesn’t age evenly. We started NorthStar to build a single Canadian brand that covers the material choice honestly — cedar where appearance matters, pressure-treated where budget leads, steel-framed where structure rules — and runs it through the same spec discipline every time.

We started with fence panels because that’s the category where material choice pays back clearest. Once the fence line is the deepest in Canada, we expand into planters, pergolas, decking, and the rest of the outdoor-living category.

Inside the building

Cedar on one side, pressure-treated on the other.

Pallets are staged by species so the yard crew can load a mixed order off one wall. Panels ship flat — 15 to a stack, banded with charcoal nylon strapping and cream kraft-paper corner protectors — the way lumber yards expect them.

Where we’re headed

Starting with fencing. Growing into the whole outdoors.

We’re not making timeline promises we can’t keep. The order of the roadmap is clear — fence, then outdoor goods (planters, pergolas, accents), then the full outdoor-living line. Materials expand with the catalogue: cedar and pressure-treated pine today, more wood species and metal framing as we grow.
