The 10 ft 6×6 is the heaviest post we stock, a true 5½ in. square, for the places a 4×4 racks on a 6 ft fence: gate ends, where the whole weight of a gate hangs off one post, and corners, where two runs pull in two directions. Set 48 in. deep to clear frost it stands 6 ft above grade, level with the 10 ft 4×4s along the rest of the line. The same post carries a pergola or a structural span. Ground-contact treated for the footing.
