Why we built it this way.
The corrugated metal fence panel with a lighter top line: the same 26-gauge black steel and pre-stained 2×4 wood frame as our solid panel, crowned with a hand-set diagonal lattice. Privacy where you stand, light and air over the fence line, and a top that reads the same as our cedar lattice panels, so the two mix on one run. It is a lattice-top corrugated panel, which the BC online metal-panel sellers do not offer at all.
The steel is Canadian-made, and it carries the manufacturer’s limited 40-year warranty on the steel and its finish, with the documentation available on request. The frame, the lattice and our workmanship are ours and are covered separately. We say which warranty covers what, because most metal-fence listings put one big number on the page and leave the rest to the fine print.
The steel face asks for nothing: hose it off. The frame and lattice are stained wood, not cedar, and like any stained lumber they will want a fresh coat on a many-years cycle. The lattice crown bleeds some wind pressure over the top, which a fully solid face does not, so this is the metal panel for an open or exposed run. It hangs between 10 ft pressure-treated 4×4 posts at 96 in. on centre, like every panel we build.
When it is in stock it is on the yard this week: order online, pick it up free the next business day, or take delivery within about 100 km of Bolton, with no freight from another province and no made-to-order wait.
